Silverio Martínez-Fernández returns to GESSI

Silverio Martínez-Fernández has come back to GESSI research group after his achievement of a Beatriz Galindo position.

Silverio studied Computing (MSc) at UPC with a grant from "la Caixa" from 2010 to 2011. Then, he did his PhD until 2016, entitled "Gathering empirical evidence and building a business case for software reference architectures in industry", with the supervision of Claudia P. Ayala and Xavier Franch.

After that, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow of the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics for two years (2016-2018) at the Fraunhofer-Institut für Experimentelles Software Engineering (Franhoufer IESE) in Kaiserslautern, Germany. After the post-doc, he stayed in Fraunhofer IESE as operative project manager (2018-2019). During this time, in EU framework programmes, he has acted as Evaluation WP leader in Q-Rapids (H2020, RIA), and has participated in DESIRA (H2020, RIA). He has participated in the organization of several conferences and workshops: PROFES 2019 (PC Co-chair), CESI@ICSE 2018 (PC-co chair) and QuASD@PROFES 2017-2018 (PC co-chair). He has joined Editorial Board Member of the SCI-indexed journal IET Software (IEE). He has also been reviewer of multiple journals (e.g. IST, JSS, IJCIS) and PC member of international conferences (e.g. ESEM, ICSME, ECSA, CIbSE).

On January 2020, he has come back to the GESSI research group at UPC thanks to a Beatriz Galindo position. The purpose of the Beatriz Galindo positions is the attraction of research talent that has carried out part of her/his professional career abroad. It favors the recruitment and training of research human capital and its mobility in sectors of national strategic interest, and promotes the quality and competitiveness of teaching and research staff in Spanish universities.
